Glass Inspired by Nature, Joel Berman Introduces PlankJune 1, 2014
VANCOUVER, BC – Plank, by Joel Berman Glass Studios, is the latest introduction to the studios’ kiln cast glass collection and will be officially introduced at this year’s NeoCon in Chicago. Inspired by nature, Plank exhibits the characteristics of an authentic wood grain species with translucency.
The flow of pattern and undulations emulates the properties of straight-grained wood while eliminating the fading, cracking, warping and other signs of degradation typically seen in wood. Plank celebrates this ubiquitous and timeless material through its abstracted communication in glass.
“Following our tradition of developing cast glass textures, we wanted to play with the idea of a truly organic surface based on nature. The texture inherent in Pacific NorthWest Cedar was a natural inspiration for us.” says Joel Berman.
Plank is available in large panels for indoor and outdoor environments in vertical or horizontal applications. It may be tempered, laminated and customized for color. It is ideal for feature walls, divider walls, screens, doors and flooring, enhancing any hospitality, corporate commercial or retail space. Plank is available in panels up to 58″ x 110″.
Plank will be officially unveiled at NeoCon 2014 in the Joel Berman Glass Studios’ Showroom, #1173.
